How to Become a Licensed PHV Driver with TfL
Eligibility Requirements
- Be 21 or older
- Hold a full UK, NI, EU, or EEA driving licence for at least 3 years
- Have the right to live and work in the UK
- Be a fit and proper person (background checks apply)

- Medical fitness check (DVLA Group 2 standard)
- HMRC tax check

Topographical Training
Our Topographical Training is designed to fully prepare you for the TfL test, guiding you through all four modules with clear, practical instruction:
Module 1: Identify Locations (5%)
Learn to use the indexes in The Master Atlas of Greater London to quickly find reference and page numbers. We’ll show you techniques to locate places accurately and efficiently.
Module 2: Map Questions / General Topography (12%)

Module 4: Plotting Routes (75%)
Plan routes from one location to another using a digital map on the computer. We guide you step by step, teaching practical tips for efficient navigation and helping you gain confidence with all route types.
Our 2.5-hour focused sessions cover all four modules, giving you hands-on practice, step-by-step guidance, and the confidence you need to pass the Topographical Test with ease.


SERU Training
Our SERU (Safety, Equality & Regulatory Understanding) training fully prepares you for the TfL SERU assessment by guiding you through all 10 core sections of the PHV Driver Handbook with clear explanations and practical examples.

We make the journey to becoming a licensed PHV driver simple and stress-free.
